Diagnosed with a brain tumour
at the age of nine, Christina
Racippo, now 26, had every
reason to feel defeated. Three
surgeries impaired her speech,
mobility and memory, but that
didn’t stop her from obtaining
a college diploma in earlychildhood
education or from
volunteering for a variety
of charities. Visiting newly
diagnosed cancer patients at
Toronto’s Hospital for Sick
Children and mentoring
kids in rehab, says Christina,
“makes my problems feel a
lot lighter. I feel like I’m part
of life again.” She had fun
at a Look Good Feel Better
workshop, but gained more
than just makeup tips. “It
gave me a whole different
perspective. I wanted to
be a role model.”
